it fascinates me how many former bethel slaves volunteers appear on this site.
last week i suffered two heart attacks, first one occurred while i was at home, phoned for an ambulance which promptly arrived and whisked me off too hospital, docs decided i needed a stent and during the angioplasty i had a massive heart attack according to the doc that did it.
i was unaware as i was out.
but what i want to say is what an amazing organisation the nhs is.
i'm lucky enough to have an NHS funded dentist.. it means i pay a set price for any treatment i need:
Dentistry is one of the few NHS services where you have to pay a contribution towards the cost of your care. The information on this page explains what you may have to pay for your NHS dental treatment.
Band 1 course of treatment – £21.60 This covers an examination, diagnosis (including X-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if clinically needed, and preventative care such as the application of fluoride varnish or fissure sealant if appropriate.
Band 2 course of treatment – £59.10 This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or removal of teeth but not more complex items covered by Band 3.
Band 3 course of treatment – £256.50 This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns, dentures, bridges and other laboratory work.
great value for money.
however--i recently needed a wisdom tooth extraction under sedation. this meant a hospital appointment. i was out for the count the whole time. total cost--nothing. zilch.
even better value for money !

Why does everyone want to move to countries such as the UK?
for the last 2 years every non-eu immigrant to the UK pays a levy of £1000 towards NHS treatment before they even apply for a settlement visa. it is paid in 2 installments over the first 5 years. it is understood to be doubled soon--maybe next month.
ive just paid my wifes second installment.
this is in addition to the national insurance and income tax she pays out of her wages.

i wish you a full recovery Moley--time to take life easy.
yes--our NHS really is still the jewell in the crown of the UK
i had a heart attack in 1996..and was in intensive care for a week. after a few years of palpitations, chest pains, GTN sprays...i was found to have very high cholestrol --hyperlipidaemia. various statins were tried--finally got the "wonder drug"--crestor. my cholestrol has been below 4 ever since.
later i had a scan for possible gall stones--i was clear--but the "bonus" was an aeortic aneaurism was discovered--in my lower abdomen. it was considered low risk and scanned regularly for years. then in 2016 it had reached a critical size so i underwent a stent operation in may 2016.
so far --so good. i'm 70 now and feel good.
all the above treatment, operation, regular ongoing meds cost me--nothing.
i believe that just because someone shows up at the voting booth, it doesn’t automatically qualify them to be legitimate voters.
i think it’s not unreasonable to provide proof that you are qualified..
i think one vote per household is better. in the UK--the name of the person on the council tax bill.

yeah--my comment about knorr soup was satire--but someone gave it a negative--?
as an aside--i named my first son Nathan--1976, having survived armageddon ( satire again folks ). i was gone from the cult before then.
